When shopping around for a specialist there are a few questions you should be asking yourself to determine if the person or company you’re talking to is in fact a specialist. Some of these questions include:

- Do they think a retail timeshare is a better value than a resale timeshare?

What Makes Someone a Specialist?
There are many timeshare resale companies out there that claim to be specialists, but what truly makes someone a specialist in something? According to Merriam Webster, the definition of a specialist is, “one who specializes in a particular occupation, practice, or branch of learning”. Well, that’s not very helpful. Perhaps Malcom Gladwell, the popular pop psych writer, can help. In Gladwell’s book “Outliers,” he claims that "ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness." This statement has been scrutinized by many, but still offers up an interesting way to think about how to define someone as a specialist. If you think about it, you probably wouldn’t want to hire a specialist in any field with less than 10,000 hours of experience.
