The timeshare brand many vacationers knew as Starwood Vacation Ownership has transitioned to the new name of Vistana Signature Experiences, and a new corporate structure. Part of the new brand, which includes Sheraton Vacation Club properties, is a select product known as Sheraton Flex.
Sheraton Flex for Timeshare Points-Based Vacationing
The concept of points based timeshare was developed to add more choices and greater flexibility to vacation ownership, which is exactly what Sheraton Flex provides. With this program, owners typically can start their timeshare resale or rental vacation on any day of the week they choose and they are not limited to week-long holidays.

FAQ for Sheraton Flex
Sheraton Flex is a timeshare points program within the Sheraton Vacation Club, highlighting six of the Sheraton timeshare resorts. Members buy into the program and are awarded an allotment of points, known as Home Options, to use for a vacation each year at one of the following six Sheraton resorts designated as home resorts:
- Sheraton Vistana Villages (Orlando, FL)
- Sheraton Vistana Resort (Orlando, FL)
- Sheraton Broadway Plantation (Myrtle Beach, SC)
- Sheraton Desert Oasis (Scottsdale, AZ)
- Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas (Steamboat Springs, CO)
- Vistana Beach Club (Jensen Beach, FL)
Because these are designated as home resorts, Sheraton Flex members gain preferred booking access from 12 to 8 months prior to their requested arrival. Bookings can still be made after the 8th month and closer to the requested vacation dates, based on availability, but the preferred access window is exclusive to home resort members.
More vacation options are also available through the Interval International timeshare exchange network, with members able to bank their points into the II network and choose a vacation from nearly 3,000 resorts. Remember that this is considered an external exchange and a separate membership into II is required to use their platform.
Westin Flex falls under the Westin Vacation Club and encompasses a timeshare points-based program which includes seven Westin timeshare resorts:
- Westin Ka anapali Ocean Resort Villas (Maui, HI)
- Westin Ka anapali Ocean Resort Villas North (Maui, HI)

- Westin Riverfront Villas (Avon, CO)
Members of the Westin Flex program buy into the program and receive an annual allotment of points, known as Home Options, to be used to book a vacation each year at any of the seven resorts in the program.
These resorts are known as home resorts within the program, and members have an early booking window between 12 and 8 months prior to the requested vacation dates in order to book those dates. Bookings can be made closer to the dates after the 8th month, but other owners in the Vistana timeshare network can also request dates, so it is advantageous to request your favorite dates as soon as possible.
Members can also use their points to vacation in a different resort through the Interval International timeshare exchange program. This requires an additional annual membership with Interval but opens new choices for vacations from nearly 3,000 resorts around the world.

Sheraton Vistana is owned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide, which owns the Vistana Signature Experiences network of timeshare resorts that includes Sheraton Vistana.
Technically yes, Vistana is owned by Marriott. In a series of corporate moves which began in 2016, the timeshare resorts that were part of the Starwood Vacation Ownership network were separated into their own entity and renamed Vistana Signature Experiences. Soon after this spinoff, in 2016 Interval Leisure Group (the parent company of Interval International) purchased Vistana from Starwood for a reported $123million in cash. In 2018, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, the umbrella company that owns the Marriott Vacation Club, purchased Interval Leisure Group and its assets which included Vistana.
