As soon as you learn that the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve is named for a word that means “spots of the leopard,” you know that you have discovered a truly special, hidden gem, waiting for you in the Bushveld. Here in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Only a short drive north of Pretoria, and roughly a four-hour drive from Kruger National Park, this unique retreat is a perfect escape for anyone seeking to experience the true beauty of natural Africa.
The timeshare rentals and resales at Mabalingwe Nature Reserve are divided into four distinctive areas, each with its own style and amazing vistas. Ingwe Camp is nestled at the top of a craggy rock outcrop and affords breathtaking views of the Waterberg Valley. This camp has a heated swimming pool, an unheated pool, and a sauna.
Kwalata Camp is set in the mountains and provides views of the bushveld. This camp is close to the conference center and the main pool. Phiri Camp is a good choice for watching animals graze nearby, and has an unheated pool, a children’s pool, and a lapa (a gazebo). Kubu Camp affords impressive views and is near the main reception area. Kubu Camp also has an unheated pool, kiddie pool, and a lapa.
Although your surroundings confirm you are in the heart of big game country your secure and comfortable accommodations will remind you that you are “roughing it” in style. Your vacation condo is a brick and stone retreat, complete with tile or carpeted flooring, a well-equipped kitchen, a living and dining area, and with a studio floor plan designed to sleep four, or one or two bedrooms, designed to sleep either four or six vacationers. Most timeshare units have balconies or patios, and outside braai (barbeque) facilities.
Although this beautiful South African timeshare resort is built in unspoiled bushlands and incorporates design that seems to meld seamlessly into the surrounding areas, it has no shortage of amenities, including the Kalahari Oasis Bush Pub, the Boma at Bar Area, Le Fera Restaurant and Bar, a children’s playroom, a computer game room, squash court, tennis, and mini golf. There’s even an onsite convenience and curio shop and a liquor store located inside the Mabalingwe Shop.
