When most people think about fun family vacations in east Tennessee, they automatically think of the Pigeon Forge area. Often called one of the friendliest cities in the state, Pigeon Forge is close to Gatlinburg. The two cities offer dozens of things that you can do when traveling to Tennessee with friends, planning a romantic trip with your spouse or looking for things to do with kids. Instead of staying in one of the older, cramped hotels in Pigeon Forge, look at the benefits of buying a timeshare unit like ones available at the Oakmont Resort.
Pigeon Forge timeshares for sale at Oakmont Resort will give you a choice of a suite with one- or two-bedrooms. One-bedroom units come with a sleeper sofa that can also accommodate up to two people in the living room along with a separate bedroom that can sleep two. Two-bedroom units come with two rooms that can accommodate up to two people each and a sleeper sofa. Both types of suites also feature DVD players, flat-screen televisions, central AC and heat, cable service and phone service. You'll also have your own equipped kitchen that comes with useful appliances like a refrigerator, garbage disposal, microwave and stove.
Once you arrive at the Oakmont Resort, you can head off and tour the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This park offers activities and attractions suitable for all types of travelers, including hiking, bird watching, fishing and swimming. You're also close to Dollywood, which is an amusement park owned by legendary country music singer Dolly Parton, which features live shows, shops and rides. Parton also has a stake in Dixie Stampede, a restaurant that lets you watch a live show as you dine.
Don’t forget to spend some time at the resort itself, which boasts a kids' pool, hot tub, indoor swimming pool, dry sauna and outdoor pool. The resort also has a small basketball court, shuffleboard court, horseshoe pit and putting green. While you can look at other Pigeon Forge timeshares for sale, this resort just might be your favorite.

Review:
This Timeshare may need to be updated but its location is perfect. We bought it new sometime in the 80's. Used it a lot because we lived
about 80 mi from it. By going back streets (after you learn your way around) its easy to get to most attractions. One of our favorites the Old Mill restaurant is about a block away. Take the back way in to the Smokies or Gatlinburg. Pegion Forge itself is a great place to shop. Young families will enjoy the fun just walking down the street especially in the evening. Fall is especially nice with all the decorations. A place you will go back to many times.
RCI membership is paid thru Sept 30,2018. We also used it to visit other resorts;

I have enjoyed spending time at Oakmont. very nice place to vacation. it has 2 pools one outside and one inside if you do not like a lot of sun. also has shuffel board, minature golf, bean bag toss and a play area for small children. inside clubhouse has the pool area,sauna and craft area for children and adults. also has a very nice sitting area with gas fire pit. it is close to many attractions and near Gatlinburg. there are grills and picnic tables at each building if you like to cook outside. it is a nice quiet place at night. just a very good place to vacate. clean and nicely furnished units and all the linens you need anytime of day.
